Powder Metallurgy Products
We manufacture a complete range of sintered components in iron, carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, bronze and soft magnetic alloys. Every product below can be tailored to your drawing, your material specification and your volume. If you do not see your part type, ask us – most of what we ship is custom.
Sintered Structural Parts

Net-shape structural components are the heart of our business. We press complex geometries directly into the die – splines, keyways, oil grooves, blind holes, flanges and irregular profiles – so the part leaves the furnace essentially finished.
- Materials: iron, FC-0208 and similar carbon steels, FN and FLN alloy steels, diffusion-alloyed grades, 300- and 400-series stainless steels
- Density: typically 6.4-7.2 g/cm³, up to 7.4 g/cm³ with sizing or infiltration
- Weight range: from a few grams to over 1 kg
- Typical parts: levers, cams, rotors, flanges, brackets, links, yokes, bearing caps, lock parts
- Tolerances: as-sintered ±0.3% typical, improved to ±0.05% with sizing
Powder Metal Gears and Sprockets

Gears are where powder metallurgy delivers the biggest saving, because tooth profiles are formed in the die rather than cut. Straight spur, helical, bevel, crown and internal gears – and chain sprockets to ISO and ANSI profiles – are all routine for us.
- Modules: from 0.4 to 4.0 (and finer with MIM)
- Accuracy: typically equivalent to AGMA Class 8 or better as-sintered, improved with sizing or shaving
- Heat treatment: through-hardening, carburising, nitriding and steam treatment for wear resistance
- Typical parts: timing sprockets, transmission gears, pump gears, appliance gear sets, worm and bevel gears, chain sprockets
Oil-Impregnated Bushings and Bearings

Sintered bronze and iron bearings contain an interconnected pore network that is vacuum-impregnated with oil. The oil is released as the shaft warms and rotates, reabsorbed at rest, and the bearing lubricates itself for its entire service life – no grease fittings, no maintenance schedule.
- Materials: bronze (CT-1000), iron, iron-copper, iron-graphite and lead-free alternatives
- Standards: manufactured to MPIF Standard 35 and ISO 5755 material families
- Oil content: typically 18-30% by volume
- Typical parts: sleeve bushings, flanged bushings, thrust washers, spherical bearings, motor and fan bearings
- Applications: home appliances, power tools, fans, pumps, automotive motors, office equipment, audio equipment
Metal Injection Molded (MIM) Parts

When a part is too small or too complex for conventional pressing, metal injection molding is the answer. Fine powder is blended with a binder, injected into a mould, debound and sintered to 96-99% density with an excellent surface finish.
- Materials: 316L, 17-4PH, 420, 440C stainless steels, low-alloy steels, soft magnetic alloys, titanium on request
- Density: typically 7.5-7.7 g/cm³ for stainless steels
- Part weight: typically 0.05-250 g
- Wall thickness: down to 0.3 mm
- Typical parts: connector shells, micro gears, medical instrument components, smartphone parts, latch and hinge components
Soft Magnetic Components

We produce sintered iron and iron-phosphorus pole pieces, iron-silicon soft magnetic composite (SMC) cores and other flux-path components for electric motors, sensors, relays and inductors. Powder metallurgy allows the magnetic part to be shaped exactly around the coil, which shortens the flux path and cuts assembly steps.
- Materials: pure iron, Fe-P, Fe-Si, Fe-Si-Cr and iron-nickel alloys
- Properties: high permeability, low coercive force, optimised for DC and AC applications
- Typical parts: motor pole pieces, sensor cores, relay armatures, rotor and stator segments, flux guides
Powder Metal Materials We Work With

| Material family | Common grades | Key characteristics |
|---|---|---|
| Iron and low-carbon steel | FC-0205, FC-0208, F-0000 | Economical, easy to compact, good for general structural parts |
| Alloy and diffusion-alloyed steel | FN-0205, FLN2-4405, FD-0205 | Higher strength and hardenability for loaded components |
| Stainless steel | 304L, 316L, 410L, 430L, 17-4PH | Corrosion resistance for appliances, electronics and MIM |
| Bronze and copper alloys | CT-1000, Cu-Sn, brass | Self-lubricating bearings, electrical conductivity, decorative finish |
| Soft magnetic alloys | Pure iron, Fe-P, Fe-Si, Fe-Ni | High permeability for motors, sensors and relays |
| High-speed and tool steels | M2, T15 (on request) | Wear-resistant tooling and cutting components |
Secondary Operations and Finishing

Powder metallurgy gets the part close to final shape. We finish it to print with:
- Machining: CNC turning, milling, drilling, tapping, grinding and honing
- Sizing and coining: to tighten tolerances and improve surface finish
- Heat treatment: through-hardening, carburising, carbonitriding, nitriding, induction hardening, steam treatment
- Surface finishing: vibratory deburring, tumbling, shot peening
- Coating and plating: zinc, nickel, black oxide, phosphate, e-coating and Dacromet
- Assembly: oil impregnation, inserting, sub-assembly and kitting
